Commissioner Rod Cleveland was elected in a special election in July of 2007. Commissioner Cleveland replaced Commissioner Bill Graves following his death in April of 2007. Married to Christine, Rod and his wife have four Children. Rod is a lifelong resident of Cleveland County, graduating from Lexington High School and then attending the University of Oklahoma where he is a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Commissioner Cleveland and his family attend Eagle Heights Church in South Oklahoma City. Rod’s children attend Community Christian School. Commissioner Cleveland brings to the Commissioner position 20 years of private business experience. Working with his father and brother, Rod started a golf ball recycling company, a Christian gifts company and a postal and business services company. These experiences have given him the perspective of time, personnel, customer and money management. Rod has served on local boards and committees within Cleveland County. He served as a member and Treasurer of ABLE (Council for Developmental Disabilities) for several years. Rod is also very involved with Community Christian School. As Commissioner, Rod is a member of many boards and authorities. Commissioner Cleveland serves on the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments as Cleveland County’s representative and is on the legislative committee with the Association of County Commissioners. Rod is Secretary/Treasurer of the 7 county cooperative Circuit Engineering District 5. |
